– Can you briefly introduce MVC and its core business?

Chi: MVC is on a mission to create a one-stop digital platform for homeowners in Vietnam, where they can easily find all the information they need to build and renovate their homes. Our goal is to become the go-to resource for anyone looking to turn their dream home into reality.

Right now, we’re laser-focused on perfecting our services in Hanoi. We want to ensure that we’re providing the best possible experience before expanding to other major cities, like Ho Chi Minh City, and eventually serving homeowners across all of Vietnam.

– What are MVC’s strengths and unique value in the Vietnamese market?

Chi: As a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. from Japan, MVC came into the Vietnamese market with a strong foundation of thorough market research. We’ve engaged with over 300 local homeowners and service providers to deeply understand the common challenges they face. This has allowed us to address these issues effectively, not just from a Japanese perspective but by truly putting ourselves in the shoes of Vietnamese homeowners.

 

What sets MVC apart is that we’re not just offering a product – we’re delivering a full-service experience. We guide our customers through their entire home-building journey, from gathering information to choosing service providers and beyond. We don’t just consider ourselves a company; we see ourselves as partners, walking alongside homeowners and prioritising their needs every step of the way. That personalised, hands-on approach is what makes MVC unique.

– Since September 2023, The Digital X has been involved in MVC’s service growth, including the latest UI/UX process. Could you share insights into The Digital X’s end-to-end B2C digital marketing consulting? What was the background and goal of this collaboration?

 

Chi: We already knew The Digital X had a stellar reputation as a global leader in digital marketing consulting, so we reached out to them when MVC was facing some internal challenges – especially around digital marketing and figuring out how to generate leads more effectively and sustainably.

The Digital X came in with their expertise and strategic insights, focusing on creating targeted digital activities like advertising to boost our lead generation efforts. Their consultation has been crucial in driving MVC’s growth and helping us achieve success.

– What were the main challenges you faced before collaborating with The Digital X?

Chi: Oh, where do I start? The biggest challenge was that we had over 100 different conversions in Google Tag Manager. It was a complete mess! I’m not sure if your team [The Digital X] was traumatised after seeing the chaos we had created *laughs*. But seriously, the disorganised conversion setup made it extremely difficult for us to track our marketing activities and develop an effective strategy.

Chi: The consultation and strategy from The Digital X stood out in two key areas: they were data-driven and highly professional. Thanks to their guidance, our team can now interpret data more easily and effectively, gaining holistic insights that directly inform our strategies and decision-making.

In terms of professionalism, The Digital X listened to our concerns patiently and tailored a straightforward strategy to meet our specific needs. Creating a one-size-fits-all approach is nearly impossible, but The Digital X customised a solution exclusively for MVC, and that’s been instrumental in our success.

– What changes have you noticed in the project since receiving global digital marketing consultation from The Digital X?

Chi: Our operations have become much more organised and strategically executed. Now, everything we do is based on real-time data, rather than relying on individual opinions that might be biassed. Every action we take, whether it’s adjusting the project budget or making key decisions, is driven by reliable data. This shift to a data-centric approach has truly transformed how we operate.

– What specific solutions did The Digital X provide to MVC?

Chi: In addition to optimising our advertising, The Digital X has helped us with email marketing and other promotional activities. Recently, they’ve also provided valuable UI/UX support, which has allowed us to adopt best practices and accelerate our processes. As a result, we’ve achieved a stable and sustainable number of leads every month. The Digital X has really provided us with a comprehensive package for growth.

– What points of innovation did MVC particularly emphasise in resolving the issue?

Chi: From our side, we focused on the importance of data-driven decision-making and critical thinking, based on the expert insights provided by The Digital X. Initially, I was a bit concerned that there might be a gap between The Digital X’s team and the Vietnamese market, as it could be a niche or unfamiliar territory for them. But they seamlessly executed everything with a dynamic strategy, and the results have exceeded our expectations. The MVC team is genuinely happy with the outcomes.

– That sounds great! What are the specific outcomes and indicators of success after receiving digital marketing consulting from us?

Chi: Our primary goals were to achieve our desired number of leads, improve our conversion rate, and reduce our cost per acquisition. These three metrics have been critical for monitoring the success of our campaigns. We’ve been able to generate a steady number of leads each month, which has been fantastic.

Additionally, we aimed to reduce our cost per acquisition by 20% within three months of launching the project. Thanks to The Digital X, we hit that target smoothly. At the same time, we increased our conversion rate by 20%, which was challenging at first, but we pulled it off by reducing costs and generating sustainable leads.

Chi: I’m just telling it like it is! *laughs*

– Thank you so much; I really appreciate it. What kind of feedback have you received from clients, partners, and users – both internally and externally?

Chi: The feedback has been extremely positive, especially from our internal teams. MVC’s sales team, in particular, was thrilled with the results. They’re excited because there are now more opportunities to convert potential leads into customers. We hope to continue working with The Digital X on future projects, including product development, so that both parties can continue to see positive results.

– Cool! Moving on to the next question: How did the partnership with The Digital X impact the overall business of MVC?

Chi: One of MVC’s biggest challenges was educating the local market about our digital platform and generating potential leads. By partnering with The Digital X, we’ve been able to establish a solid foundation for advertising and create a sustainable lead generation channel. This collaboration also helped educate our internal team about the importance of being data-driven and adopting a more critical perspective in all aspects of our operations.

– What are MVC's goals and vision for the future?

Chi: Our mission is to become a one-stop digital platform. We don’t want to limit ourselves to just service providers focused on selling sanitary equipment or helping users select SPs. Instead, MVC aims to build a diverse, all-in-one ecosystem that covers everything from home building to insurance, financial support, maintenance, and more. Our vision is to make every Vietnamese homeowner’s experience more convenient by addressing common problems with effective solutions.

– What are MVC’s expectations for upcoming projects and its partnership with The Digital X?

Chi: We’re looking for more breadth and depth in our partnership with The Digital X. We’d love to continue working together on ad optimization over the long term, but we also want to diversify our digital marketing activities and enhance our creative strategies for internal operations, such as improving UI/UX.

In terms of depth, we’d like The Digital X to be more deeply involved with our marketing and product development teams, providing greater insights and expertise to help refine our processes moving forward.
